Lakkidi Mist Retreat is a hillside of garden cottages and a family villa arranged around a glasshouse restaurant, with the whole Thamarassery valley spread below. It is the place to come for cloud forests, fireplaces and long breakfasts.

Rooms and cottages step down the hillside, each with a full-height window or verandah pointed at the valley. Mist cottages add a fireplace; the family villa has two bedrooms, a lawn and a telescope for clear nights.
Breakfast, afternoon tea and a daily guided garden walk are included. Rooms are serviced twice a day during the monsoon so that nothing stays damp for long.

The Glasshouse serves breakfast with the valley at your feet, a Kerala thali at lunch and a short, seasonal dinner menu built around estate vegetables and Malabar seafood. Hot chocolate and pazham pori appear whenever the rain starts.

Sunrise at Lakkidi View Point, boating on Pookode Lake, a guided tea-garden walk at Varayal, and the drive down the hairpin bends to Thusharagiri Falls. The retreat's naturalist leads a cloud-forest birding walk every morning.

By Air
Calicut International Airport (CCJ) is the closest, about 90 km and a 2.5 to 3 hour drive through the Thamarassery ghat. Kannur International Airport (CNN) is roughly 3 hours away and is a scenic alternative for northern Wayanad. Bengaluru is a 6 to 7 hour drive via Mysuru and the Bandipur forest road.
By Road
All resorts on Wayanad Escapes can arrange a private airport transfer at the time of booking. Self-drive guests should note that the Bandipur stretch closes to traffic between 9 pm and 6 am.
By Rail
Kozhikode (Calicut) railway station is the nearest railhead, about 85 km from Kalpetta.
