Meppadi Tea Estate Bungalow
The bungalow was built for the estate manager in 1924 and still sits in the middle of 600 acres of tea, with Chembra Peak filling the view from the verandah. Pluckers pass the gate at seven; the factory whistle marks lunch.
Meppadi Tea Estate Bungalow is a slow stay: nine rooms, suites and cottages in a heritage planter's house, long verandahs, a rose garden and tea rows in every direction. Factory tours, tastings and estate walks are part of the rhythm.

The bungalow keeps its teak floors, high ceilings and claw-foot baths. Planter's rooms open onto the main verandah, estate suites have a sitting room and fireplace, and the garden cottages stand alone among the roses.

Dining & amenities
Dinner is a set planter's menu that changes daily: roast chicken with pepper gravy one night, a full Kerala sadya the next, served at one long table or on the verandah. Estate tea, filter coffee and homemade jams are always on.

By Air
Calicut International Airport (CCJ) is the closest, about 90 km and a 2.5 to 3 hour drive through the Thamarassery ghat. Kannur International Airport (CNN) is roughly 3 hours away and is a scenic alternative for northern Wayanad. Bengaluru is a 6 to 7 hour drive via Mysuru and the Bandipur forest road.
By Road
All resorts on Wayanad Escapes can arrange a private airport transfer at the time of booking. Self-drive guests should note that the Bandipur stretch closes to traffic between 9 pm and 6 am.
By Rail
Kozhikode (Calicut) railway station is the nearest railhead, about 85 km from Kalpetta.
