Banasura Lake Cottages
Banasura Sagar is a sheet of water scattered with islands beneath the Banasura hills. The cottages sit on their own peninsula, with kayaks on the shore and the hills turning gold at sunset.

Rooms & suites
Cottages and tents open straight onto the water, with decks for breakfast and outdoor showers screened by bamboo. The island villa has two bedrooms, an infinity plunge pool and a private boat.
All stays include breakfast, a daily sunset cruise and use of kayaks and paddleboards. Tented suites come with a campfire kit; the villa includes a private chef for dinner.

Meals are served wherever you like: on your deck, on the jetty, or around the fire. The kitchen leans on lake fish, Wayanad rice and spices from the estates up the road, with a Malabar seafood grill on Saturday nights.

Kayaking and paddleboarding on the reservoir, the walk to Meenmutty Falls, a sunrise trek up the Banasura ridge, and dark-sky stargazing from the jetty. Tholpetty wildlife sanctuary is a morning's drive away for jeep safaris.

By Air
Calicut International Airport (CCJ) is the closest, about 90 km and a 2.5 to 3 hour drive through the Thamarassery ghat. Kannur International Airport (CNN) is roughly 3 hours away and is a scenic alternative for northern Wayanad. Bengaluru is a 6 to 7 hour drive via Mysuru and the Bandipur forest road.
By Road
All resorts on Wayanad Escapes can arrange a private airport transfer at the time of booking. Self-drive guests should note that the Bandipur stretch closes to traffic between 9 pm and 6 am.
By Rail
Kozhikode (Calicut) railway station is the nearest railhead, about 85 km from Kalpetta.
